New Year's

Well, I started the year 2009 with a bad attitude. I tried so hard not to. I'm realizing more and more that so much of me is in Savannah and I was dreading 2008 ending because I knew I would have to leave all of that behind. On another hand, I am glad to see 2008 go. It was kind of tough at times! Between dealing with a crazy person (seriously), losing a best friend, adjusting to a new position, and several other things, it had its hard moments! At the same time though, I gained a best friend and love. I seriously have the best boyfriend ever and can't wait to be able to see him every day! Seems like the longer we are together the harder it is to say goodbye and I've never been good with goodbyes with anyone or anything. Oh, and I can't forget the friends I have that I grew closer with...especially Tiffany. I am so glad she is up here.

Generally people think of New Year's resolutions for themselves. I have decided that I needed to do something differently. I need to make lifestyle changes. If I call them resolutions then they will just get broken. So, here are my lifestyles changes. Basically, I need to get back to some of the habits I used to have.

  • Go to bed at 11 pm on week nights
  • No more soda, except for ginger ale when needed
  • Eat better; take time to actually eat dinner
  • Take Hudson for long walks
  • Be 5 steps ahead of my boss
  • Find a roommate that actually pays their rent
  • Set up a budget and stick to it (after I find the roommate that pays their rent)
  • Pay off the credit card and then cut it in half
  • Exercise religiously
  • Find a place to volunteer
  • Paint more
I think if I can get back into these habits, I will be more productive, happy, and become stronger and independent like I used to be.

For New Year's, Greg and I met up with some friends (Bob and Kelly) in Orlando. Look who was there over New Year's weekend...

Jimmy Carter!

Tomorrow will be a good day. The premier issue of Southern Weddings Magazine will be hit newsstands!
